Countdown to the Golden Globes begins with the chefs of the Beverly Hilton Hotel unveiling the menu for the stars. Each year they take it up a notch. Thank you to our very own (Spy Girl), who arrived in 90201 to witness this and report back. So here is what is cooking.
Executive Chef Suki Sugiura just announced this year’s culinary theme: Global Flavor with California Twist this year.
1. Grilled Eggplant with Sun-dried Tomato Pine-nuts Hummus on Seared Tomato is 1st of 3 in Golden Globes appetizer trio. Appetizer Trio to also include Mini Sweet Pepper with Feta Cheese Pomegranate (yum or what) Herb California Olive Oil on Grilled Pita. (This makes me miss my olive tree in Beverly Hills. Grilled Artichoke on Multi-grain Tabbouleh & Tahini will complete the Golden Globes appetizer trio this year!
2. Executive Sous Chef Chris O’Connell announced Mediterranean Spice Crusted Braised Beef Short Rib: To accompany the short rib entree the chef has prepared Smoked Filet of Atlantic Sea Trout. Official entree. Oh wait that’s not all there is more to this; Spinach, Sweet-Corn Ragout and Light Cream of Tomato Dill-Sauce 2 polish Trout.
How do you top off a meal this fresh & flavorful? With Gusto-Mango dessert on Almond Sponge Cake with Creme-Anglaise. Yes there are those health nuts out there but hey, why pass this up, it is the Golden Globes, after-all. Executive Pastry Chef Thomas Henzi just has done it again with the dessert! it will rock the 71st Golden Globes. Naturally everything is from California. You gotta love, California, you gotta love Hollywood, where everything is done big.
